Surroundings and activities

at the bottom of the park and surrounded by greenery, you will discover the Church of Erigné and its presbytery which belongs to the same period as the house.

Five minutes walk from the house,

at "Le petit port”, you can make a nice tour by boat along the Louet river. 

Just a little farther by car, 

the vineyards, the restaurants, the city of Angers, the chateaux and the Loire river.

directly from the wine growers of the region.

There are many restaurants

and typical places close to our house where you can enjoy the specialties of the region. Fried fish and local wine are served along the river in the typical open-air cafés since 1900 ! In some of those places you can also enjoy some dancing . . .

10 minutes away by car, 

from Le Jau, is the city of Angers, city of art and culture. The castle of Angers and the Apocalypses tapestries will be the main interest of your visit. You will find interesting as well to visit the museums, its beautiful Cathedral (Saint Maurice), the parks and gardens.
In July, the Theatre and Music Festivals bring life to some of the most beautiful sites and to some of the Anjou’s castles.

The Loire river with its wild majesty legends will conquer your heart.

You can follow the Loire river until the city of Saumur or even farther if you wish, discovering all the wonders along its banks : castles, churches, abbeys, mills and lovely villages built with the typical stone of this region : le tuffeau.

You can visit the Troglodyte caves which are also part of
the Anjou region’s interesting sites.

You can take a guided tour to the Rose Gardens  
in Doué la Fontaine, “ the city of the rose ”.

Visits are available upon appointment at the rose growers of the region.

Sport Activities

  Come and enjoy Les Ponts de Cé city swimming pool just next to the river.

You can enjoy authorized and suitable places for swimming in the river,
as well as fishing, sailing, a golf course near by, tennis and a horse ridding school.
